Cold wave in Delhi, temperature 4 degrees Celsius

Delhi. The cold is increasing in the capital Delhi. The temperature has dropped due to cold winds. It has become so cold that people were seen warming their hands by lighting fires at various places at night. This morning, on December 12, the minimum temperature has reached 4.8 degrees. At 5.30 am, the temperature of Delhi was 4.8 degrees Celsius, which was less than yesterday’s minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius. Cold wave conditions still persist in the capital and surrounding areas. This situation is likely to remain the same for the next few days.

Usually, such a drop in the temperature of Delhi is seen by the end of the month of December, but this time the process of falling mercury has started before time. According to weather forecast agency Skymet, usually the lowest temperature in December is recorded in the last week of the month. The lowest temperature in Delhi since 2009 was 2.4°C, which was recorded on 30 December 2013 and 28 December 2019. The lowest temperature in December last year was 4.9°C on 15 December.

After snowfall in the mountains, cold winds are coming down the slopes, causing the temperature to drop. A western disturbance is still moving over the mountains and weather activities will continue there for the next two days, so there is little chance of further drop in temperature during this period. However, after the weather clears in the mountains, the temperature may fall further in the plains of North India.
