Chennai, May 9:
The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced special coaching classes for students from Corporation schools who did not clear the Class 12 public examinations, aiming to help them succeed in the upcoming June supplementary exams.
According to Education Department Joint Commissioner K. Karpagam, the initiative is part of efforts to improve pass percentages and ensure that more students successfully complete their Higher Secondary education. Officials noted that, compared to last year, a higher number of students from Corporation schools passed the exams this year.
However, a total of 401 students failed the Plus 2 public examinations, while 11 students were absent. To support these students, the Corporation’s education department has begun conducting targeted special classes, focusing on helping them clear the supplementary exams scheduled for June.
In addition to academic support, the civic body has directed school headmasters to ensure that students who have passed the exams proceed to higher education. Schools have been asked to prepare detailed records of students enrolling in colleges and other institutions.
An advisory meeting on higher education admissions and student follow-up measures is scheduled for the 13th of this month, as part of continued efforts to strengthen educational outcomes in Chennai.Chennai GCC starts coaching for Class 12 supplementary exam
