Kanker. Kanker Police today arrested 4 accused from Madhya Pradesh who committed cyber fraud by posing as police officers and sent them to jail on judicial remand. The accused were cheating by obtaining numbers from online FIR. These accused used to open the state police portal and demand money from the mobile numbers of the parties to the cases registered there in the name of taking action in their cases. Four people involved in an inter-state gang who committed fraud by posing as police officers have been identified. Police is searching for others involved in the gang. The accused of cyber crime were found committing crimes in other 8 districts of Chhattisgarh and other states also.
In police station Charama, 3 applicants, applicant Manisha Verma, applicant Pushpa Bai and applicant Utsav Jurri, presented a written application that the holders of 5 unknown mobile numbers had earlier called the applicant impersonating a police officer in a crime case registered in police station Charama and called the other party. Is demanding money in the name of sending him to jail.
On the complaint, a crime was registered against the accused mobile holders under Section 170, 384, 511, 66D of IPC and Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008 and taken into consideration. Balaji Rao, on the instructions of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Divyang Patel, Superintendent of Police, under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Avinash Thakur, Police Station Incharge Charama Jitendra Gupta formed a joint team of Police Station Charama and Cyber Cell Kanker and sent the team to Madhya Pradesh to trace the accused.
On interrogating the holders of the accused mobile numbers, they told that in the gang, Manish Kushwaha (21 years) and Vijay Kushwaha (24 years), all residents of Madhya Pradesh, used to arrange mobile SIMs and Aneet Yadav (24 years) and Lavkesh Yadav (25 years) all Both of them, residents of Madhya Pradesh, opened the police portal of Chhattisgarh and other states and used to demand money in the name of taking action in the cases of the applicants by posing as police officers of the Superintendent of Police office on the mobile numbers given in the cases registered there.
The said accused used to talk on mobile and demand money through Paytm, Phone Pay and distribute it among themselves. Apart from this, 20 thousand rupees from Hemlata Bhardi of Durg, 5 thousand rupees from Tokan Sharma of Bastar, 5 thousand rupees from Ganesh of Chirmiri Bharatpur district, 2 thousand rupees from Narendra Sewte of Durg, 2 thousand rupees from Bilaspur Bholashankar Rathore, Paytm, Cheating was done through phone and money was also demanded from Arun Das Vaishnav of district Gariaband, Bhupendra Sharma of district Mahasamund, Kadam Bai of district Surguja. On this basis the accused were arrested and detained. 2 mobile phones, 1 ATM card and Rs 5700 in cash were seized from the accused.
