Hyderabad. Six employees of a hotel were arrested on Monday for attacking a group of customers during a dispute over ‘poor quality’ biryani served on New Year’s Eve. The customers refused to pay, claiming that the biryani was not cooked properly. After their argument with the hotel staff, a fight broke out between the two parties. The employees allegedly attacked the customers with sticks.
A family from Dhoolpet area was at the hotel to celebrate New Year. He was not satisfied with the quality of biryani served there. This incident happened in the famous Grand Hotel of Abids. Police have registered a case after videos of the alleged attack were widely circulated on social media on Monday. Six people have been arrested and charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, an audio clip of BJP MLA Raja Singh threatening to set the hotel on fire was also circulated on social media. In a telephone conversation with a police officer, the controversial MLA used abusive language against those involved and demanded the police to shut down the hotel. The Goshamahal MLA even said that if action was not taken, he would set the hotel on fire.
