Chain snatching gang busted, caught with jewelry and bike worth Rs 3 lakh

Bilaspur. In the case of continuous chain snatching in the district, the police has got a big success. Police busted the chain snatching gang and arrested an accused. These accused, along with their accomplices, used to carry out loot incidents on the pretext of asking names and addresses of helpless and elderly women in the rural areas adjacent to the city. The police seized gold jewelery worth Rs 3 lakh from the accused and the motorcycle used in the incident. According to the police, all the accused are habitual criminals, against whom many cases of robbery have been registered in different districts. Along with this, he has also gone to jail many times.

Incidents of chain snatching were continuously coming to the fore in rural areas around Bilaspur city. Which was also a challenge for the police. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh directed to solve it soon and to form a joint team of police stations along with the team of ACCU to nab the chain snatchers. Police teams became active in different areas. The CCTV footage installed around the incident area was closely examined.
