CG: Lovers couple consumed poison, mourning in the village

KANKER: There is mourning in a village of Koylibeda in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. The mourning is because the village’s lover couple committed suicide by consuming poison. They wanted to be together for 7 lives by getting married, but caste became a hindrance in their marriage and the girl’s family got her engaged to someone else, but this lover couple did not like this and both thought it right to take a horrific step like suicide.

This whole matter is of Gudabeda village inside Koylibeda police station area. The lover-girlfriend were lying unconscious in the field in the village itself. Both were taken to the hospital from there. Where half an hour first the girl died and after half an hour the boy also died. It is being told that both were residents of the same village and both were adults. Both were in a love affair for a year. Being from different castes, the families of both were not ready for marriage.

Just a month ago, the family of the deceased girlfriend was engaged to another boy by her family. On 16th June at 6 AM, Shanti Daro, son of Sukdev, 20 years of age, of Gudabeda Patelpara and Sonu Ram Komra, son of Budhram, 20 years of age, of the same village were in a love affair for a year. The family members were also aware of their love affair. Despite this, the family members of the deceased had got her engaged to another youth in another village a month ago. The girl was about to get married. On Sunday morning, both were found lying unconscious in the field of Dharamuraam Anchala of the village. The death of the lovers has caused mourning in the village. Sonu Ram Komra, husband of the Sarpanch of Gudabeda village, said that due to the incident, the festival of sowing paddy seeds in the village has also been postponed.
