Punjab: In a tragic incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan accidentally crossed the International Border (IB) in Punjab’s Ferozepur sector and entered Pakistan.
The incident occurred reportedly took place on Wednesday while the jawan, was on duty near farmland close to the Indo-Pak border. He has been identified as PK Singh of the 182nd BSF battalion.
According to reports, Singh unknowingly entered Pakistani territory. But to his sheer bad luck, he was detained by the Pakistan Rangers. BSF demanded the return of the jawan but the Pakistan Rangers rejected it.
It is further worth mentioning that the jawan was assisting a group of farmers when the incident took place. Till the time of filing of the report, the talks between India and Pakistan were still on to rescue the BSF jawan captured by Pakistan.
Earlier today, an Indian Army jawan was martyred in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Udhampur.
