Bihar governmentwill provide subsidy for construction of ponds

Bihar Bihar: Under this scheme, grants will be provided to those who construct ponds and wells, with benefits available in four categories: community irrigation wells, private irrigation wells, water storage ponds and farm ponds. The Sinchai Nishchay Yojana, a social welfare scheme launched by the Bihar government, aims to provide assistance to those who plan to build wells on private or community land, as well as those who plan to build ponds and farm ponds on private land. The state government plans to build 249 structures in the financial year 2024-25, for which online applications are open till July 19.

Under this scheme, grants will be provided to those who construct ponds and wells, with benefits available in four categories: community irrigation wells, private irrigation wells, water storage ponds and farm ponds. The per unit cost is Rs 5,63,300 for community irrigation wells, Rs 3,82,200 for private irrigation wells, Rs 2,73,700 for water harvesting ponds and Rs 1,06,080 for farm ponds. For private land, an irrigation well with 10 feet diameter and 30 feet depth will be constructed, while for community or government land, the well will be 15 feet diameter and 30 feet deep. The water harvesting pond on private land should be 150 feet long, 100 feet wide and eight feet deep, while the farm pond should be 100 feet long, 66 feet wide and 10 feet deep. In this phase, residents of Banka, Munger, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Patna, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur and Buxar can avail the benefits of this scheme. Sinchai Nishchay Yojana Subsidy Structure The subsidy structure is as follows: 80 percent subsidy for irrigation wells on private land, 100 percent subsidy for wells on community land and 100 percent subsidy for wells on private land. Additionally, 90 percent subsidy will be provided for water storage ponds on private land and farm ponds. The payment will be made based on the measurement of the work.

To apply, visit the Agriculture Department website dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in and use your 13-digit Bihar Government Ponds Construction Subsidy Provide Registration Number to log in and then complete the application process. For specific information, contact the Deputy Director (Agriculture) Soil Conservation or Assistant Director (Crop) Soil Conservation of your district.
