Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government said that ration cards will not be cancelled until the survey report is out. The Food supplies and consumer welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed regarding the ration cards.
He said that 30,00,734 people have not updated the e-KYC. The facility to update the e-KYC for ration card is open now and beneficiaries can update it till March 31.
After the deadline gets over, officials will go on a field visit and release the final list of eligible beneficiaries. On the other hand, the registration portal for new ration cards is also open now. As many as 6,35,000 people have applied earlier for new registrations. Their survey is underway now. The survey report will end by April 15.
In the new window for registration, 50,000 people have applied. After their survey the beneficiaries will receive benefits of the ration cards.
Odisha government further said that beneficiaries will receive wheat along with rice grains. According to reports, wheat will be given as a measurement of the 20 per cent of the rice grains being distributed now.
