Surajpur. The battery of an electronic scooter exploded while charging in Chandrapur village adjacent to Surajpur district headquarters on Tuesday night. The explosion was so powerful that the walls cracked. After the blast, a massive fire broke out in the house, in which a girl got badly burnt, while her younger sister suffered minor injuries. On receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The girl was first brought to Surajpur District Hospital for treatment, after first aid there she was referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital.
According to the information, Parvati Singh (22), a girl working in marketing in Chandrapur village of Surajpur police station area, took out the battery of the electric scooter at 9 pm on Tuesday night. Put it on charge inside the room. She was cooking food nearby. His younger sister Chandravati, who lived with him, was lying on the same bed. After some time, he saw smoke coming out of the scooter’s battery, so he switched off the charger.
As soon as he switched off the charger, there was a huge explosion in the battery of the scooter. After the blast the house caught fire. Parvati got burnt in the fire, while Chandravati suffered minor injuries. When relatives living some distance away saw the room on fire, they informed the fire brigade.As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Parvati was brought to District Hospital Surajpur for immediate treatment. Since there was no burn unit there, he was referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital. Both the hands and legs of the girl have been seriously burnt. Some part of the face has also been burnt. He is being treated at Medical College Hospital, Ambikapur. Whereas younger sister Chandravati was discharged after first aid.
