Bareilly: Mohammad Naeem, a resident of Bhauwa Bazar village of Thana Kyoldia, accused of raping a minor girl (17) after luring her away, was found guilty by the court in the trial. Special Judge POCSO Act Court Kumar Mayank sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000. The entire amount of the fine will be given to the victim as compensation.
According to government lawyer Subhav Kumar Mishra, the victim’s father had given a complaint in the Kyoldia police station and told that the minor daughter was sleeping with her mother on 11 December 2023. When the wife woke up to urinate between 12 and 1 in the night, she saw that the daughter was not there.
A year ago, Mohammad Naeem had teased his daughter. Therefore, when he went to Naeem’s house at night, he was also not at home. His father told that your daughter will come in a day or two. When he went again after two days, Naeem’s family abused him and threatened to kill him. The daughter also took the cash kept in the house and the mother’s jewellery with her.
The police registered a report of kidnapping by luring and during the investigation, the police recovered the victim. The victim told that Naeem used to study with her in school. On the night of 11 December 2023, Naeem called her outside the house and an auto was standing a little distance away in which Naeem was sitting.
He took her with him to the bus station from where he took her to Allahabad and raped her by keeping her in a house there and threatened her on protest. After several days, Naeem brought her back to Bareilly. After investigation, the police increased the sections of rape and POCSO Act and sent the charge sheet against Naeem to the court. The government advocate presented eight witnesses.
