Janjgir Champa. 11 people hatched a conspiracy out of greed for the precious stone near Baiga Babulal Yadav of Munund village in Janjgir Champa district. Baiga was taken away from the house on the pretext of exorcising him. He was taken hostage and murdered in Katra forest of Baloda. The dead body was buried there. The police have also arrested the 11th accused involved in the crime. The entire matter is of City Kotwali police station area. Actually, Babulal Yadav’s wife Ramvati Yadav had lodged a report in the city police station on 9 July 2022. On July 8, some people had come to take her husband Babulal Yadav for exorcism. He was taken hostage with his hands and mouth tied.
They found Rs 23,000 in cash, two pieces of gold jewellery, two pairs of silver rings kept inside the house and dug out the place of worship, but when nothing was found they stole it and ran away. Ramvati Yadav had filed a missing report of her husband Babulal Yadav. After the complaint, SP Vijay Aggarwal ordered to search Baiga. During the police investigation, the suspects Tekchand Jaiswal and Rajesh Harvansh were caught and interrogated strictly, in which it was told that Baiga had received information that he had Paras Mani Stone and had conspired with his associates to acquire it.
The accused told that they reached Babulal’s house and took him with them in the name of exorcism. During this time, in the Katra forest of Baloda, Paras started asking Babulal about the gem stone. Baiga was kept hostage in the forest due to Babulal Yadav not informing him. During this time, all the friends together reached Baiga’s house in Munund, tied his wife’s hands and feet and started digging everywhere in the house in search of the philosopher’s stone. Paras Mani was not found, then he returned to the forest and killed Baiga by beating him brutally with his hand, fist and stick. After the incident, the body was buried in the forest itself and everyone went to their homes. 10 accused have already been arrested in the case. The same accused, Satish Kumar Keskar, was absconding, who was arrested by the police after 19 months.
