ASI shot himself during night duty

New Delhi: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police allegedly shot himself with his service revolver in BP Marg area on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. An officer gave this information.
According to officials, ASI Ramavatar and SI Prem Singh B.P. But were deployed on night picket duty. Marg in New Delhi.
Officials said that at around 3 am, ASI Ramavatar informed his colleague Sub Inspector to rest for 10 minutes and went to sit in his car, which was parked near the barricade.

He told that after some time, when SI Prem went to investigate him, he found that ASI Ramavatar had shot himself with his service pistol and was found dead.

He told that he was originally a resident of VPO Chhitroli, District Mahendragarh, Haryana and had joined Delhi Police in 1993.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated and the police are investigating further.
