Andhra: Free eye check-up camp receives enthusiastic response

Anakapalli: Pfizer, a leading multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, in collaboration with Sankar Foundation, inaugurated a free eye screening camp here on Tuesday at Parawada. Head of Pfizer’s unit B Muralidhar Sarma inaugurated the camp in the presence of company’s senior official K Radhakrishnan, Sankar Foundation general manager V. Ramesh Kumar.Speaking on the occasion, Muralidhar Sarma expressed his delight over partnering with the eye hospital. He emphasised the company’s intention to continue its association with the hospital in future to benefit a greater number of patients.

The eye camp witnessed a huge response from the nearby villages and over 500 patients were screened and 350 spectacles were distributed apart from medicines. Meanwhile, 40 patients were identified for eye surgeries at the foundation’s main hospital located at Naiduthota, informed DGM K Bangar Raju.Pfizer officials Ravichandra, Vijay Mahajan, Rajesh Ravuri, Aravind Jayaraman, doctors from Sankar Foundation Sri Lakshmi, Apoorva, and Pavan conducted patient screenings.
