Pendra. Elephants are creating terror in the residential areas bordering Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Due to which the houses of the villagers of Dharhar village are seen getting damaged. Not only this, due to the mischief of elephants, the grains kept in the house have also started disappearing. The crops of many farmers are also getting damaged. Seeing the aggressive attitude of elephants, there is an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding area. At the same time, the team of Forest Department is engaged in monitoring the elephants. But no solution seems to be coming out.
On May 22, elephants broke into the house of a villager in Bharrapara area of Taraimar village of Korba and licked the food items including rice kept in the house. At that time the Forest Department team had advised the villagers not to go towards the forest. The question arises that, since a long time, in many districts of Chhattisgarh, the team of forest department is seen failing to stop the elephants.
