Panipat. The son of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Delhi Police went missing under suspicious circumstances in Panipat, Haryana. ACP’s 26-year-old son Lakshya Chauhan had gone to Rohtak with his friends to attend the wedding ceremony. From here he did not return home. While in police custody, the suspect told during interrogation that he had brought the target from Rohtak to Panipat. Here he was thrown into the Moonak canal. On the trail of the accused, two teams of Delhi Police reached Panipat on Thursday afternoon.
Old Industrial Station in-charge Inspector Virendra Kumar said that divers conducted a search operation in the Moonak Canal passing through the area. However, due to high flow of water and coldness, the search operation was conducted till Jatal. Even after 2 hours of search the body was not recovered. After this the team returned. There is a possibility of conducting a search operation from Jatal to Sonipat again on Friday. Media reports are raising suspicion of murder of the target.
According to the information, Lakshya Chauhan had gone to a wedding party with his friends on January 23. This marriage was in Rohtak, Haryana. Lakshya, who left home to attend the wedding, could not return home. After which his ACP father Yashpal Singh Chauhan had lodged his missing report at Samaypur Badli police station in Delhi. After this the police put his mobile number on tracing. His location was found to be Haryana. Police also got information about 3-4 suspects at his location. On the basis of this information the suspect was taken into custody. During interrogation, he said that Lakshya was thrown into the Moonak canal.
