A young man walking home on foot was crushed by a crane, died

Kanpur. A young man who was going home on foot in the morning after doing night duty in Govind Nagar police station area was hit by a crane and crushed while trying to escape. Due to which he died on the spot. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. The police investigated and sent the body for post-mortem.

36-year-old Ankur Pandey, resident of Babupurva Colony of Kidwai Nagar police station area, used to work in a factory located in Dada Nagar. His younger brother Prateek Pandey told that after doing night duty on Tuesday night, he was coming home on foot from the factory at 8 am on Wednesday. The crane hit him from behind near Dadanagar railway crossing and crushed him while trying to escape. When people nearby saw the accident and ran, the driver ran away. Govind Nagar Inspector Vikram Singh reached the spot with the force and informed the people nearby about the incident. He told that further action will be taken after receiving the complaint of the family members.

The family members have accused the driver of deliberately ramming the crane. In this regard, Govind Nagar Police said that the family members have made allegations. The allegations will be proved only after seeing the CCTV footage installed nearby. Police said that the construction work of Dadanagar bridge is going on. For this reason, work is being done there with many cranes. The crane is said to belong to someone Rajeev Gupta. The situation will become clear after watching the footage.
