Raipur. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, a special campaign against drugs is being run by Raipur Police under the Nijaat Abhiyan, in which continuous action is being taken by the entire police station and the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit. A special team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit has been formed to take effective action against the Narcotics Act and all police station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those who sell and supply intoxicants. In the same sequence, on 18.03.2024, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a woman and a boy traveling in a bus coming from Orissa towards Raipur were coming to Raipur to sell ganja with them.
On which Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Kirtan Rathore, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Mittal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh and City Superintendent Mana Lambodar Patel verified the information to Anti Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge and Mandir Hasaud in-charge of the police station and arrested the accused with ganja. He was directed to be caught red handed. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Mandir Hasaud police set up a blockade point at the toll naka located under Thana Mandir Hasaud area to arrest the accused.
Meanwhile, after seeing the bus coming, the team members stopped it, identified a woman and a boy of the same description as described by the informer and arrested them. During interrogation, the woman revealed her name to be Kumman, resident of Jena, Orissa and the boy was a child in conflict with the law. When the team members searched the bags kept with them, it was found that ganja was kept in 03 different bags. On which the team members arrested the female accused Kumman Jena and the boy who was in conflict with the law and seized a total of 24.390 kg of ganja worth about Rs 2,50,000/- from their possession and registered crime number 254/2024 Section 20B against both of them in Police Station Mandir Hasaud. An offense under the Narcotic Act was registered and action was taken.
