A heated argument with his son led to the father killing him and dumping the body in a field.

Mahasamund. In Gogal village, under the jurisdiction of the Patewa police station, a father beat his 25-year-old son to death with a bamboo stick over a minor family dispute and, to conceal the evidence, dumped the body in a distant field. Police have arrested the accused father.

This was revealed on Tuesday when applicant Anjali Tandon filed a missing report at the Patewa police station regarding her husband, Prem Prakash Tandon. Anjali stated that her husband had gone to his father’s home in Gogal village on the night of March 2nd and had not returned since. When police questioned the family closely, the mystery began to unravel. The investigation revealed that the deceased, Prem Prakash Tandon (25 years old), a resident of Lakhanpur village, had gone to the ash brick factory in Gogal on his motorcycle at around 10:00 pm on March 2nd at the call of his father, Ganga Ram Tandon.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a heated argument between the father and son over a family matter escalated. The dispute escalated to the point where, in a fit of rage, the father, Ganga Ram Tandon (51), attacked his son, Prem Prakash, with a bamboo stick. Prem Prakash died on the spot from severe injuries. After the murder, the accused father, to avoid legal action, dumped his son’s body in a deserted field about 1 kilometer from their home. Patewa police recovered the body and registered a murder case, establishing a case file.

The accused father, Ganga Ram Tandon, has been taken into custody and is being questioned further. The police prepared an inquest report and handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem. Legal proceedings are underway in the case.
