Durg. A 9-year-old girl in Bhilai’s Khamhariya Ward 1 committed suicide just because her siblings did not let her play carrom. After the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the family. Smriti Nagar police is investigating the case. According to the information received from Smriti Nagar police, the incident took place in Khamhariya village. Sevak Ram Nishad (60 years), who lives here, has 12 children. His youngest daughter Piya Netam, 9 years old, was playing carrom at home with her twin sister and others at 11 am on Saturday.
During the game, the siblings had a fight over some dishonesty, so they refused to let Piya play and chased her away. Piya went inside the house crying and complained to her parents. When the parents did not pay attention to her complaint, she went to the room crying.
After this, she climbed on the bed inside the room, tied a rope to the ceiling and made a noose and hanged herself. When the parents reached inside, they saw that Piya was hanging from the noose. They cut the rope and immediately rushed him to Sankaracharya Medical College Hospital. There, doctors declared him dead.
