BJP leader Jagannath Sarkar said on Bangladesh crisis, the situation there is a matter of concern
Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Jagannath Sarkar gave his reaction on the political crisis in Bangladesh during the conversation. Expressing concern over the current situation in the neighboring country, he has demanded action from the central government. He emphasized that Bangladesh was a part of India in history. Our own people are living there. In such a situation, it is necessary that efforts should be made to normalize the situation there.
BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to take strict steps keeping in mind the political crisis in Bangladesh. If strict steps are not taken in time, the situation there will not be normal, the brunt of which will have to be borne by the common people there. Bangladesh was a part of our country. Later it was separated from our country. No steps have been taken towards giving Indian citizenship to the people of the minority community of Bangladesh. At present, it is the duty of our government to provide security to the minority people living there.” He further said, “It is our responsibility to take strict steps towards normalizing the situation there. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly in action mode towards normalizing the situation there. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met in this regard. As a Bengali leader, I am saying that the current government will have to take strict steps towards normalizing the situation there.” The BJP leader said, “I want to emphasize that it is the responsibility of our government to provide security to all the minorities there. I want to say that if we do not take steps in this direction in time, then no one will survive there.”
After the deteriorating situation in Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her post and come to India, but till now her asylum in India has not been confirmed. It is believed that she can take refuge in England. On the other hand, the army in Bangladesh can soon form an interim government. The protesters have been protesting for the last several days.
In the all-party meeting called by the central government regarding the situation in Bangladesh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, while informing the leaders of all political parties about the situation in Bangladesh, also assured that the government is keeping a close watch on the neighboring country. Information was also given in the meeting about the safety of Indian citizens present in Bangladesh. In the meeting, all the political parties assured to stand with the government on this issue. According to sources, in the meeting, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also informed that there were 20 thousand Indians in Bangladesh, most of whom were students. After the government issued an advisory, 8 thousand of them have returned to India. He also told that the government is in touch with the Bangladesh Army. The situation there is constantly changing and as the changes happen, the government will again give information about it.
