After receiving a scholarship of Rs 4.5 million from the British government, she is all set to move to London for research. Pragati will research global warming for the next three years. Pragati Jha, a native of Bangaon in Saharsa district, received the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship from the British government. She will receive Rs 15 lakh per year for studies and research for three years. She will study marine science at a renowned university in England. Her family and the entire city are happy with her achievement. Her lawyer father expressed pride in her hard work and talent, highlighting her journey from primary education in the village to secondary education in Ranchi and then to Kerala through ICR, which led to her current success.

Pragati’s achievements have made her people, her state and the entire country proud. Her commitment to global warming research is inspiring. He highlighted the importance of stabilizing climate change and promoting green energy to combat global warming. He pointed out the possibility of producing green energy from seawater in coastal states like Gujarat and Bengal. Although solar energy is expanding, it has not yet reached the scale required for large factories. Pragati believes that the problem of global warming can be gradually reduced by increasing the use of green energy. Pragati decided to focus his research on climate change, conservation and use of oceans and marine resources for sustainable development. After completing his research, he plans to return to India to contribute to the country’s efforts to reduce global warming. The British government will bear his research expenses, including travel to and from London. Pragati is the first student from Bihar to achieve this distinction.
The Commonwealth Scholarships, launched by the British government, provide scholarships to deserving students from Commonwealth countries. Managed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the program aims to attract talented people to UK universities and support sustainable development. Every year 800 students receive this scholarship. Applicants must apply through nominated institutions by registering first on the MHRD website and then on the ECAS portal before the deadline.
