Tamil Nadu: Class 10 public exams to begin tomorrow

Tamil Nadu: The Class 10 public examinations under the School Education Curriculum are scheduled to begin on Wednesday (March 11), with 909,397 candidates scheduled to appear.
The Class 10 public examinations will be held from Wednesday (March 11) to April 6. The first day will feature exams for language subjects, including Tamil. 909,397 candidates are taking the exam at 4,219 centers across the state. This includes 882,806 students from 12,467 schools, 26,196 independent students, and 395 prison inmates. 12,292 students will appear with the assistance of scribes. 49,542 teachers will serve as room invigilators for the public examinations. 4,954 fixed and flying squads have been deployed to prevent malpractices. Similarly, special monitoring teams have been formed under the leadership of the District Collector, Principal Education Officer, and Revenue Department officials. Additionally, armed police officers will be deployed 24 hours a day at 300 question paper collection centers. The exam centers are equipped with excellent drinking water, seating, electricity, ventilation, lighting, and restroom facilities.
Restrictions: Several restrictions have been imposed on students and teachers. No electronic devices, including mobile phones, are permitted in the exam room. Answer sheets must be written only with blue or black pens. Colored pencils and pens are prohibited. Similarly, special codes, exam numbers, and names are prohibited on the answer sheets. A cover sheet containing details such as the student’s photo, registration number, and subject will be provided along with the main answer sheet. Students will simply need to check and sign it. The room supervisor will be required to separate the answer sheets.
If any student is found to be involved in any misconduct, such as impersonating an official, misbehaving with an election official, or altering answer sheets in a public exam, action will be taken against them as per the rules. A maximum ban of three years or permanent ban will be imposed. Furthermore, if the school administration attempts to encourage misconduct, its affiliation will be revoked. Election results on May 20th: Following the completion of answer sheet corrections, the election results will be announced as planned on May 20th. Additionally, an election control room has been set up for students and parents to voice their complaints and comments regarding the general elections.
