Jalandhar: 400 students from 15 schools participated in the tech fest.

Jalandhar: The PG Department of Computer Science and the IT Forum of Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized the 16th Tech Fest – an inter-school competition – on Thursday. More than 400 students from 15 different schools across Punjab participated in the fest, which featured 20 competitions, including Business Plan Presentation, Play with Clay, On-the-Spot Painting, General Quiz Bonanza, Gaming, Picture Captioning, Poster Presentation, Photography, “Gustakhi Maaf” (Forgive the Mistake), Website Development, Programming Skills, Declamation, Poetical Recitation, Theme-Based Modelling, T-Shirt Painting, Mobile App Idea Presentation, Rangoli, Cooking, Group Dance, and News Reading. At the inaugural ceremony, Gurinderjit Kaur, District Education Officer (DEO), Jalandhar, was present as the chief guest. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra welcomed the chief guest and said that her presence would surely inspire the participating students from across Punjab. The Principal also appreciated the DEO’s contribution in strengthening Jalandhar’s education system through the integration of modern technologies.
Addressing the students, Gurinderjit Kaur expressed her delight in interacting with the talented youth and commended the institution for upholding its legacy with dignity. She emphasized that the true purpose of education lies in promoting the values inherent in “Satyam, Shivam, and Sundaram” (Truth, Goodness, and Beauty), and highlighted the need to bridge the growing gap between government and private schooling through value-based education. Dr. Dhingra stated on the occasion that it is due to the vision of the Founder Chairman Dr. Satya Paul, the leadership of Sushma Paul Berlia (President, Apeejay Satya and Swan Group; Chairperson, Apeejay Education; Chancellor, Apeejay Satya University), and the encouragement of Dr. Neha Berlia (Joint Secretary, Apeejay Education) that ACFA has reached this height today and is fully equipped to match global standards of quality education. On this occasion, a thematic video highlighting the institute’s 50-year journey, titled “Soaring High is My Nature,” was screened. Additionally, a soulful “Shiva Stuti” presented by Samartha of the Performing Arts Department captivated the audience.
Rajni Kumar from the Design Department apprised the gathering of the college’s significant achievements. During the farewell ceremony, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director of Apeejay Education, presided over the event as the chief guest. Sharing her thoughts, Dr. Sucharita Sharma said that her 41-year association with Apeejay College has been a journey of continuous learning, dedication, and purpose, profoundly shaped by the guidance of Sushma Paul Berlia. The event also featured a spectacular choreography based on the theme of “Nari Shakti” (Women’s Power) presented by 15 students of the Performing Arts Department. The Tech Fest 2026 championship trophy was won by Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, while MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar secured the second position, and Apeejay School, Model Town came in third. All the winning students received certificates and prizes. Principal Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of the Overall In-charge – Dr. Rupali Sood and Dr. Monika Anand; Conveners Dr. Jagmohan Mago and Dr. Rekha; and Function In-charge Dr. Manisha Sharma and Pallavi Mehta, along with the entire organizing team, for their dedication and teamwork.
