8 killed in major rail accident, horrifying scene

Kanchenjunga Express Accident: A major train accident has taken place in New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. A freight train hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express from behind. Due to the collision, several bogies of the Kanchenjunga Express derailed. So far eight people have died in this accident while 25 are reported injured. Meanwhile, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has left for Darjeeling.

This collision took place around 9 am on Monday when 13174 Kanchenjunga Express was going from Agartala to Sealdah. In this collision, two coaches of the Kanchenjunga Express derailed. There was screaming everywhere. Due to the collision, the bogies of the train derailed. The administration is busy taking people out by cutting the coaches with a gas cutter.

Northeast Frontier Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Sabyasachi Dey said on this accident that 25 people have been injured in this accident, who have been sent to the hospital. The goods train has hit the Kanchenjunga train from behind. The reasons for the collision will be known after investigation. Senior officials are reaching the spot, officials have also arrived from Katihar. Those who have been admitted to the hospital do not have serious injuries. According to the information so far, eight people have died.

After the Kanchenjunga train accident, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is leaving for Darjeeling. He will reach Bagdogra Airport. The accident site is 40 kilometers away from Bagdogra Airport.
