The party has intensified action against the leaders who rebelled and joined other parties and those who indulge in sabotage while staying inside the party. Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur Congress District President Ashok Srivastava has expelled 5 councilors including the former Nagar Panchayat President from the Congress.
After the victory in Korba, the only Lok Sabha seat in Chhattisgarh, Congress President of Manendragarh district Ashok Srivastava has taken a tough stand. He is constantly cracking down on the rebels. Already, Jhagrakhand Nagar Panchayat President Rajneesh Pandey and Chirmiri Corporation Councilor Hemlata Mukherjee were expelled from the Congress party and their membership was cancelled.
Now, Ashok Srivastava has expelled former President of Jhagrakhand Nagar Panchayat Om Prakash Vishwakarma, Nagar Panchayat Jhagrakhand Councilors Jameela Begum, Sita Kol, Khuneshwar Prasad (KD), Arunima Keshar and Councilor Husband Taufiq Qureshi (Babu) and cancelled their membership.
District President Ashok Srivastava said that even though there is no Congress government in the state, Congress is with the common people and being in the opposition, it will continue to raise the issues of the people. Those who leave Congress and betray it at such a crucial time will not be spared at all.
