Uttarkashi: A case of fraud involving youths has come to light in Dehradun, where they were deceived with promises of overseas employment. It is alleged that an individual swindled approximately eight lakh rupees from 45 young men by luring them with the promise of lucrative jobs abroad. Following complaints from the victims, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Reports indicate that the accused had assured the youths of attractive employment opportunities overseas. He collected money from them under the guise of securing jobs, visas, and handling other necessary procedures. The victims realized they had been defrauded when, after a long period, they neither received the promised jobs nor had their money returned.

The victims allege that the accused collected money for various documents and fees required to send them abroad. Initially, he assured the youths that they would secure jobs quickly, but later, he stopped communicating with them.
