New Delhi: Two women were among three killed Monday when a MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed into their home in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh. The pilot ejected on time.
The rescue operation was underway, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary told news agency ANI.
The plane had taken off from Suratgarh and the pilot was safe, the agency reported.
In an official statement, the Air Force said the plane crashed near Suratgarh during a routine training sortie. “The pilot ejected safely, sustaining minor injuries. An inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident,” it read.
