Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. In the district, under the guidance of Collector Priyanka Rishi Mahobia, a joint team of Revenue, Food, Police and Mandi Board officials continuously conducted surprise inspections in paddy procurement centers and warehouses of traders, purchased paddy from farmers at support price, transported paddy illegally. Investigation and action is being taken against storage and non-standard quality of paddy. Under which today 3 vehicles were caught illegally transporting inter-state paddy, during which 128 quintals (258 bags) of paddy was seized from these vehicles.
According to the information, a total of 95 quintals (183 sacks) of paddy loaded in two vehicles being brought to the district from the border of Madhya Pradesh, was confiscated for being suspicious and not presenting the necessary documents and was handed over to the custody of Gaurela police station. Similarly, 33 quintals (75 bags) of paddy were seized from businessman Ajay Sultania in Pendra for illegal transportation of paddy in his Mazda vehicle and handed over to Pendra police station till further action. It is noteworthy that the district administration is working seriously to stop the transportation of illegal paddy in the district. 24-hour duty has been fixed for the employees at all the border check posts of the district and instructions have been given to them to discharge their duties responsibly. Besides, the unpaved roads and footpaths are also being monitored. The administration is keeping special vigil on sensitive areas and middlemen and coaches. To stop the movement of illegal paddy, raids including physical verification of warehouses are being carried out.
