Balod. In the district, a student has been murdered by putting an iron rod around his neck. The accused in the murder of a nine-year-old student is none other than his minor cousin, who has been sent to police custody. The reason behind the murder is said to be abuse and family dispute between the two children. This case is of Arjunda police station area. According to the information received, on the morning of January 31, a 9-year-old boy had gone to study in the primary school located in Toran Sahu village. Toran was a student of class four. After having lunch in the afternoon, he along with a boy from his class went towards the pond located about 200 meters away from the school to defecate. During this time, when the school bell rang, the accompanying boy came back but Toran did not return, due to which the head reader and teacher of the school remained unaware.
When all the children returned to their homes after school was over in the evening, Toran’s mother informed the school teacher about her son not returning home, after which everyone started searching for the child. Meanwhile, someone from the village told about seeing her son going towards Gauthan, in search of whom his mother reached Gauthan, where when the mother saw her son lying dead in the corner of the under-construction building, she was shocked. There were stab marks on the child’s face and an iron rod was stuck in his neck.
Information about the incident was immediately given to the police and as soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and started investigation. In this case, within 12 hours, the 14-year-old formal boy, the cousin of the deceased, was interrogated on charges of murder. During this time he confessed to killing his cousin. There was a long standing dispute regarding land between the father of the deceased child and the family of the accused minor child. A previous crime has also been registered in this case. The police is now investigating from this angle whether there was any dispute among the children regarding this matter.
