Janjgir-Champa. The flying squad of the district’s Mineral Department has taken action against 12 vehicles carrying out illegal mining and transportation. In-charge Uttam Prasad Khunte, in-charge Mineral Inspector, assistant team in-charge PD Jade and team conducted surprise inspection of vehicles carrying illegal transportation of minerals in Champa, Janjgir, Akaltara, Pamgarh, Shivrinarayan, Birra, Bamhanidih and Pithampur areas.
Hemant Cherpa said that 5 highways carrying illegal transportation in the district, 3 highways transporting mineral stones, 1 highway transporting soil and 3 highways transporting coal were seized. Action was taken against all 12 vehicles. To effectively control illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals in the district, special campaigns are being carried out by the district level task force and continuous investigation is being carried out. Punitive action will be taken against illegal excavators, transporters and warehousers under Rule 71 of Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules 2015 and Section 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957.
