Zirakpur: Police have recovered five uniforms from eight people arrested for allegedly raiding Delhi by posing as fake NIA team. Investigation revealed that the gang had extorted Rs 1.35 lakh by conducting a fake raid at the house of Mahesh Gupta, a resident of Delhi. Police said that many cases are likely to be solved after questioning them.
The arrested people include two women Jyoti and Neelam from New Delhi, Balwinder Singh, a resident of Maloya, Radheshyam, a resident of Ropar, Rajkumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Nitesh Kumar, a resident of Jhajjar, Subhash Chandra, a resident of Sirsa and Sushil Kumar, a resident of Bahadurgarh. Three other suspects in the case are absconding. Police said that on July 17, an eight-member fake NIA team was trying to extort money from Veerpal Singh on the pretext of a land deal in Delhi, which was allegedly defrauded. Police said that the suspects were produced in court, from where they were sent on police remand.
