YSR Congress MP’s wife and son abducted, released safely by police

Visakhapatnam (IANS) | YSR Congress Party MP MVV Satyanarayana’s wife, daughter and auditor were safely rescued by the police from the clutches of their kidnappers. The MP was not in Visakhapatnam during the incident. In fact, a gang had abducted the MP’s wife Jyoti and son Sharad and demanded a ransom of one crore rupees. When G Venkateswara Rao, a close aide and auditor of the MP, reached to give the money, he too was abducted.

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Trivikram Verma said that all three were released safely within a few hours of receiving the information. Some police officers have suffered minor injuries during the rescue operation. It is not known when the MP’s wife and son were abducted. But, on Thursday, information about the auditor’s abduction was received.

The police have arrested two people, including Hemant Kumar, for their involvement in the incident. The police launched an operation based on the mobile location of the accused and got the three abducted people safely released on the Eluru-Amalapuram highway. During this, a police vehicle was also damaged.
