Raigarh. A bookie has been arrested by the police. Police station in-charge Kotra Road Inspector Rakesh Mishra had received information from the informer that Suresh alias Pintu of village Krishnapur was contacting people on mobile near Sidar School and making speculative notes. On receiving the information, the police station in-charge, who went on patrolling to investigate the complaint and take action under the Minor Act, was instructed to go to village Krishnapur and take action.
Kotra Road police cordoned off the spot and arrested a suspicious young man who revealed his name as Suresh Sidar alias Pintu Sidar, father Bund Ram Sidar, age 34 years, resident of Krishnapur police station, Kotra Road district Raigarh, whose touch screen on checking the mobile of Samsung company showed WhatsApp. In many online betting markets, the Satta number and the amount of the bettors’ transactions were found written in numbers. In this regard, Suresh Sidar admitted to winning and losing money through online betting.
In the possession of accused Suresh Sidar, a touch screen mobile of Samsung company, cash amount of Rs 2700, screen shot 06 slips in which account of Rs 7150 is written. On the actions of the accused, Additional Inspector was registered in Kotra Road police station. 187/2024 Action has been taken under Section 6, 7 of Chhattisgarh Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2022. Assistant Sub Inspector Kusum Kaivart, Hemsagar Patel, Head Constable Karunesh Rai, Constable Chandresh Pandey were involved in the raid action.
