Under the preliminary plan, ₹20,000 is likely to be transferred to women’s accounts before the elections. Subsequently, if a new government is formed, two further installments of ₹10,000 each could be released.
The scheme aims to make women self-reliant and provide them with financial support to start small-scale employment or self-employment ventures. The government intends to improve the economic status of needy women in both rural and urban areas by bringing them under the ambit of this scheme.
