Durg. This is the story of Amar who was confined between the walls of a kutcha house for years and is now living his life happily in his own pucca house. Amar’s father Ramadhar is a resident of Gram Panchayat Mohlai Block Dhamdha. He is a simple farmer who lived in a kutcha house for many years. He always dreamed of building a pucca house for his family. But due to financial constraints, this dream remained unfulfilled. With the passage of time, Amar also had a housing problem after marriage. Due to poor financial condition, he was not able to build his own house.
Amar Singh tells that I had a very old house with kutcha walls, on which we were living by stretching a plastic sheet, during the rainy season the situation became even worse. Water dripping from the roof, mud floor and mud all around, all these had become memories of my life. Then I got a solution to my problem through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. My father’s dream came true through the scheme. Ankit received information about the approval of the house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gram) year 2020-21.
Under the scheme, he got approval of an amount of Rs 1.20 lakh. He also got employment for 90 days under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA. Along with this, he got the benefit of gas cylinder under the government’s Ujjwala scheme. After a few days, the first installment amount of Rs 25 thousand, second installment amount of Rs 40 thousand, third installment amount of Rs 40 thousand and the last amount of Rs 15 thousand under the PM Awas Yojana was deposited in his bank savings account. Amar Singh expressed happiness and said that within no time my good concrete house was ready. We are now happily living in the same house with our family. I am very grateful to the government who thought about a poor person like me and worked to bring light in my dark life by providing the money directly to my account for building a house.
