Mumbai (IANS) | Mumbai Indians’ female fast bowler Isi Wong has written her name in the history book of T20 cricket by taking the first hat-trick in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
Chasing a target of 190, Wong demolished UP Warriors’ innings by taking a hat-trick. She completed her hat-trick by dismissing Kiran Navagire (43), Simran Sheikh (0) and Sophie Ecclestone (0) in consecutive balls. He took four wickets for 15 runs and UP’s innings was reduced to 110 runs in 17.4 overs.
Wong said he didn’t do anything special on Friday, just tried to bowl at a good pace. She had been on hat-trick chances a few times before but had missed. But on Friday, he executed his plan correctly.
He said in the press conference, “I tried my best to execute it correctly. I have been in such a situation before but I messed it all up. But this time I tried to stay calm. I bowled a yorker this time.” cast and succeeded.”
Wong said she was focussing on finding good rhythm while bowling. For his hat-trick, he said that it would top his best bowling performance.
