Worker drowns in river, search continues

Janjgir-Champa. A young man has drowned while taking bath in the strong flow of Hasdev river in the district. It has been more than 20 hours since the young man drowned, but no trace of the young man has been found. SDRF team of Bilaspur is investigating. The incident took place in Champa police station area.

According to the information, the youth is Ashray Kanwar (29), resident of Bhavarmal Rohda. He works under contractor Anmol Yadav in PIL Company, Champa. He had gone to take bath in the Hasdev river passing through Mahuda village between 2 and 2.30 pm on Saturday afternoon. Seeing the youth Ashray Kanwar drowning in water, the people of Dhanwar Dera tried to save him.

But the young man went underwater due to the strong current of Hasdev river. Information about the incident was given to the village sarpanch. Sarpanch and village people reached the spot and informed Champa police. Police team and a team of 13 divers from Janjgir reached the spot and started searching for the youth but no clue could be found about the youth Ashray Kanwar.
