Business Business: Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air on Tuesday received its first Airbus A321XLR jet. The plane is the world’s first plane to be powered by Pratt & Whitney’s (P&W) GTF engine.
Wizz Air has ordered 47 A321XLR planes with Airbus, which has 239 seats and is a single-aisle aircraft.
P&W, which is part of RTX (RTX.N), competes with CFM International. CFM is powered by GE Aerospace and Safran and aims to provide engines for the plane.
