Mahasamund. The unidentified body found from the big canal of village Bemcha in the district remained a mystery for the police initially, but with the help of intensive investigation and cyber cell in a few days, the police solved the mystery of this case. The deceased was identified as Pileshwar Sahu (35 years), resident of village Pacheda, police station Khallari. In a sensational disclosure, it was revealed that Pileshwar was murdered by his girlfriend Devki Baghel and her son Suresh Baghel.
Pileshwar had not gone to his duty (job of a private security guard in Raipur) since 8 September 2025. On September 10, an unidentified body was found in the Bemcha canal, which had serious injuries on the face and a cloth was stuffed in the mouth. There were also injury marks on the neck and genitals of the deceased. The doctor’s short PM report made it clear that this is a case of murder. Cyber cell and police station Mahasamund formed 3 special teams and started investigation. During interrogation in the area, the police came to know that Devki Baghel, a resident of Bemcha, had earlier been booked for murdering her husband and had been released from jail. When the police investigated deeply on the basis of suspicion, it was found that Pileshwar often visited Devki’s house and was staying there for the last several days.
On the night of 9 September, Pileshwar reached Devki’s house and started arguing under the influence of alcohol. This situation was extremely unpleasant to Devki and her son Suresh. In anger, both of them tied Pileshwar to the cot with a rope. After this, Suresh slit his throat with a vegetable cutting knife, while Devki attacked him in the eye with a screwdriver. The accused stuffed a cloth in his mouth to suppress the noise and threw a lump of gravel on his face to erase his identity. Suresh cut off the private parts of the deceased. After Pileshwar’s death, both of them dragged the body and threw it in a nearby canal and also threw his clothes and mobile there.
