West Indies women’s cricket team will go on Pakistan tour

LAHORE: The West Indies women’s cricket team will tour Pakistan in April for a white-ball series, comprising three ODIs and five T20 matches. All these matches will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The PCB said that the three ODI matches between Pakistan and West Indies are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, which will be played on April 18, 21 and 23. After this, a series of five T20 matches will also be played from April 26.

The T20 series will also give both Pakistan and West Indies an opportunity to begin their preparations for the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh in September-October this year.

The PCB said, “We warmly welcome the West Indies women’s team to Pakistan for the upcoming series. Hosting a fourth Women’s Championship series on home soil within the 2022-25 cycle is a great opportunity to promote women’s cricket and allow our players to showcase themselves on the international stage.” It is a testament to PCB’s commitment to prove its worth.”

“The upcoming series against West Indies is not just about cricket, it is about developing and strengthening relations between cricket playing nations.”

West Indies last toured Pakistan in November 2021 and played three ODIs. The upcoming ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 series will be the fourth series hosted by Pakistan on home soil after previously hosting Sri Lanka (June 2022), Ireland (November 2022) and South Africa (September 2023).

Pakistan’s last series in the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 will be the England tour in May this year.
