Police have arrested a gharana fraudster in West Bengal. He cheated 500 women at once. He cheated them of more than Rs. 2 crore. Anand Kumar (35) from North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, has committed several frauds. Based on the complaint given by the victims, the South-West district police arrested him. The accused was involved in many crimes including honey trapping, romance scams, online blackmail, and matrimonial fraud.
He used to create fake profiles on dating apps, social media, and matrimonial sites. He would make women believe that he was a doctor, lawyer, film producer, businessman, and many other professions. He would extort money from women he came close to by believing them. He would cheat some by marrying them and taking money, cheat others by making them believe that they had a medical emergency, and take money by making them believe that he had lost money in business and other reasons. In this way, he targeted about 500 women and collected up to Rs. 2 crore from them. Moreover, he would also take photos and videos of women who trusted him and blackmail them. He would threaten to post those photos and videos on social media and other sites. Recently, this whole affair came to light when a woman filed a complaint against him. Several cases have been registered against him in the past as well.
Recently, a woman complained to the police that Anand cheated her in the name of Vaibhav Arora. She said that she contacted him through Instagram and WhatsApp. After investigating these accounts, the police found that there was a big deal behind this. He used to use various mobile phones to cheat women. The police have seized four cellphones, SIM cards and gold ornaments from him. The case is under investigation.
