West Bengal: Search for missing child after 20 years in Jalpaiguri, usually every day many missing cases go viral on the internet. Recently, such news has been making headlines in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. A boy has been missing from this area for 20 years and his mother is still looking for him. According to reports, even after 20 years, the mother searches for her son in the neighborhood with the photo of her missing son. The incident took place in Rabindra Sarani, Ward No. 2 of Jalpaiguri district. The name of the missing child is Sajal Sarkar. He was 11 years old when he disappeared. The boy could speak properly; he could only talk about his mother, his father and his grandfather and nothing else. He used to explain his thoughts only through gestures. His father, Nanigopal Sarkar, is a traveling salesman by profession. He makes a living by selling sweets. Although his mother is a housewife, Nanigopal Sarkar has three daughters and a son. Currently, three of their daughters are married. Sajal was the youngest among them.

Even after 20 years, Sajal’s mother searches the neighbourhood for Sajal’s photo. Asks people on the street about her missing son. Sajal reportedly went missing while on his way to school twenty years ago and is still missing. His parents also said that any kind person who finds Sajal will be given a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. The boy went missing from a field near his residence in Ahiritola in North Kolkata on February 10, 2017, following which his father lodged a complaint with the police. The Nadia district administration later rescued the boy from Karimpur in 2018 and initially kept him in a government accommodation there. Subsequently, a television programme helped reunite the teenager with his parents more than two-and-a-half years after he went missing.
