West Bengal: Attack on Minister’s House; Election Commission Seeks Detailed Report

West Bengal: The Election Commission has sought a detailed report regarding an attack on a minister’s residence in West Bengal.

During Prime Minister Modi’s election campaign in West Bengal, a clash erupted between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress. This altercation escalated into violence, with both sides attacking one another. Furthermore, bricks were hurled at the residence of State Minister Shashi Panja amidst the violence.

In light of these events, the Election Commission has requested the Kolkata Police to submit a detailed report concerning the attack on the minister’s home.

Reports indicate that more than 50 volunteers from both sides—including eight police officers—sustained injuries during the attack.

Although Minister Shashi Panja accused the BJP of orchestrating the attack on her residence, she did not file a formal complaint regarding the incident.

Nevertheless, the police have registered a case on their own initiative.
