Weather Alert: Continuous rain and snowfall, administration closed some roads

Dehradun (IANS) | It has been just a week since Char Dham Yatra started and the weather has started showing its colors. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather has taken a turn continuously since Saturday night. Because of this, it is raining and snowing continuously. Because of which some roads have been closed by the administration. 3 roads in Dehradun and 2 roads in Pithoragarh have been closed due to rain. They will be opened only when the weather is clear. Along with this, an appeal is being made to the devotees who have come on Chardham Yatra to cancel their Chardham Yatra for now.


Ajendra Ajay, president of the Badri-Kedar temple committee, informed about the condition of the dhams. Also told that the temple committee has requested all the passengers and devotees to start their journey only in view of the weather update. He said that all the pilgrims are currently being advised to postpone their journey as per the forecast of the Meteorological Department. If someone has come on the journey, then where he is present, he has been advised to stay there.


According to the information received from the Central Control Room of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority, light to heavy rains are continuously occurring in all the 13 districts of the state. Rural roads have also been disrupted at many places due to rain. According to the information received from the Disaster Control Room, 3 roads in Dehradun district and 2 roads in Pithoragarh district have been closed due to rain. Action is being taken to open the road. Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra has just started for 1 week but till now 15 people have died. 1 in Badrinath Dham, 5 in Kedarnath Dham, 4 in Gangotri and 5 in Yamunotri. Similarly, there is a possibility of bad weather for next 3 to 4 days.
