Tamil Nadu: Thol. Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), stated that his party would demand—and secure—additional seats within the DMK alliance.
On Saturday, while inaugurating the distribution of nomination forms for prospective candidates wishing to contest the Assembly elections at the party headquarters in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, he subsequently told reporters: “The interests of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Nadu [VCK] are just as vital as the interests of the alliance itself. The number of seats allocated to the VCK within the DMK alliance has not yet been finalized. This process cannot be characterized as a tug-of-war. We will demand additional seats for the VCK, and we will indeed obtain them. The seat-sharing arrangement is expected to be finalized within a day or two.”
Thol. Thirumavalavan further remarked that the era when the AIADMK alliance looked toward ‘Poes Garden’ has passed; the party is now turning its gaze toward Delhi. He added that a perception is taking shape among the public that the BJP is treating the Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, in a manner akin to a ‘rogue’.
