We are happy that we and our children will live in a permanent house, Birhor Shyamlal and Sunita got PM house

Korba. PVTG Shyamlal Birhor, a resident of Doomarkachar under Pali block of the district, says that we have been living here for five generations. We were so poor that we could never save enough money to convert our kutcha house into a permanent one. It was a mud house, and many of our generations came and went in this house. We too have been living in this kutcha house since childhood. During the rains, it is as if a mountain of troubles breaks down on kutcha houses. A stream of water falls on the house from the tiles. It ruins our sitting and sleeping place along with wetting clothes and other essential items.

We have to remain confined in the house amidst thunder and lightning and the crumbling walls in heavy rain increase our heartbeats and force us to live in fear and terror. We are happy that even though we and our parents and grandparents have faced these troubles till now, our coming generations will not live in kutcha houses. They will get a chance to live happily without any fear and trouble in the PM Janman Awas received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Shyam Lal said that our financial condition is such that the dream of a permanent house is just a dream for us. Our kutcha house is not in good condition, so we could not even think of building a permanent house. Shyam Lal said that his wife, children and old mother live at home. He traditionally brings bamboo and makes baskets, winnowing baskets etc. and sells them. He has some land on which he grows paddy. His financial condition is not so strong that he can earn enough money to build a permanent house. He said that his life till now has been spent in a hut. He thanked the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi ji and the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnudev Sai, and said that they took care of the special backward tribal society and built permanent houses for extremely poor families like us under PM Janman. He said that the permanent houses are ready and they will shift to their new houses. Birhor Shyamlal says that the coming generation will not have to suffer the problems of rainy days in kutcha houses. Their children and grandchildren will be able to live in pucca houses without any worries.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai approved 18 lakh PM Awas Yojanas as soon as the government was formed in the state and released the amount in the accounts of the beneficiaries. As soon as the amount reached the account, the beneficiaries have started building the houses. The special thing is that the Prime Minister of the country has taken the initiative to benefit the PVTG families with development through PM Janman Yojana by providing roads to their settlements, housing for them and other schemes.
