War is changing America’s priorities: Ukrainian President Zelensky

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has expressed concern that the US’s priorities are changing due to the war in West Asia. He commented that the military and weapons supplies they have received from the US for years are being reduced due to the war and are being redirected to Israel. He said that if this war continues for a long time, the support they receive from the superpower is likely to decrease further in the future.

Zelensky said that for years they have used Patriot air defense systems supplied by the United States to intercept ballistic missiles launched by Russia. Now, with their supply stopped, they are suffering serious losses in the war. Zelensky lamented that their weapons stocks are dwindling day by day. He said that they have increased the production of domestic drones as US support has been decreasing for some time. Meanwhile, he said that Russia has become troublesome in targeting their fuel reserves to disrupt the production of drones and missiles.

Zelensky said that the global economy is being affected by the tensions in West Asia, and that no help is being received from allies. On the other hand, he expressed his concern that there is no progress in the ongoing talks with the US to end the war. He said that Russia is taking advantage of this and intensifying its attacks on them. Zelensky accused Russia of gaining economic benefits from the war in West Asia. He said that after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, the world is again buying large amounts of oil from Russia.

Zelensky said that Moscow, which benefits economically from this, is further strengthening its military capabilities. Zelensky said that its military experts are helping Gulf countries counter drones being used by Iran. He said that in this way, those countries have the opportunity to supply them with anti-ballistic missiles.
