Volunteers restore the natural flow of Yagamso River

Volunteers of NGO Youth Mission for Clean Rivers (YMCR) and Abralo Memorial Multipurpose Society, in collaboration with Itanagar Smart City Development Corporation Limited, cleaned the Energy Park stretch of Yagamso river here on Wednesday.

In a statement, the YMCR highlighted the “adverse impact of morning rains on the Yagamso River in the Energy Park area”, adding that “excessive rains led to accumulation of garbage, resulting in the river appearing dirty and obstructed.”

“The sources of the debris have been identified as various headwater areas including Raj Bhavan and lobby areas,” it said.

It said volunteers removed the accumulated waste and restored the natural flow of the river.
