Villager was making Mahua liquor from hand furnace, Excise team took action

Mahasamund: Against illegal liquor manufacture and sale, Excise team Basna and Saraipali jointly took action on illegal hand-made Mahua liquor manufacture in the jungle of village Purushottampur on the basis of informer information.

When the Excise team raided, Mahua Lahan in fermentation stage total 300 kg in 03 plastic bags and 03 drums (50 kg capacity) worth Rs. 15000 and filled in 10-litre plastic jerrycan and one drum of hand-made Mahua liquor 50 litres total 60 litres hand-made Mahua liquor worth Rs. 12000 total market value Rs. 27000. The above mentioned liquor hand-made Mahua liquor was duly taken into Excise custody, Mahua Lahan was destroyed on the spot.

A case was registered against the said unknown accused under Section 34(1)(a)(c), 34(2) and 59(a) of the Excise Act 1915 and investigation is being carried out regarding the unknown accused. The said action was taken under the leadership of Excise Sub Inspector Nitesh Singh Bains, in-charge of Excise Circle Basna. During this, Excise Sub Inspector Saraipali Shri Darsaram Soni and Excise Staff were present.
